Description & Care Instructions:

The Bromeliad Christiane has a deep colored red bloom. The plant you will receive will have a deep red bloom as seen in the picture. These bromeliads prefer medium to bright light and a warm humid environment.

After flowering, this bromeliad will tend to produce a "pup". Allow it to grow until it is at least 8 inches tall before detaching it. Once detached pot it in a new pot and then discard the parent plant.

Light:

Place your Bromeliad near a bright window where it can get indirect bright light. This plant will tolerate a bit more shade if brighter light is not available.

Watering:

Bromeliads have a central reservoir where water pools in the middle of the plant. Keep the reservoir full with clean, fresh water every couple weeks and the soil moist but not soggy.

Temp & Humidity:

Bromeliads are a tropical plant so they thrive in warm temperatures and higher humidity levels. Keep the temperature between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. To keep humidity levels up you can mist your plant a few times a week or place the pot on a tray filled with pebbles and water.

Soil:

Use a quality bromeliad mix or an orchid potting mix.

Feeding:

Use a liquid fertilizer and mix with water to dilute. Use a 50/50 mix, 50% water and 50% fertilizer. Use this once a month and feed the reservoir and the soil.
